As you may have seen, footway widening has been implemented on Milkwood Road. We will continue to monitor these changes to ensure they are working for all road users, so If you have any feedback on the new street layout, please do get in touch. Local cafés and pubs are also due to re-open on Saturday 4th July. If this causes any new areas of concern for social distancing, please let us know via Commonplace. TfL have also implemented footway widening in the area as part of the ‘Streetspace for London’ programme to enable social distancing. This includes:<li>reallocating road space to pedestrians along Streatham High Street, between Station Approach and Natal Road, and;</li> <li>reallocating loading and parking bay spaces to pedestrians along Clapham High Street. Thank you to everyone who continues to comment. We are nearing 700 now and this week a new location, on Ferndale Road, has emerged as one of the most commented upon areas. The locations in Lambeth with the most comments about footway widening are:- Milkwood Road- Tulse Hill- Hawarden Grove- Elm Park, in Tulse Hill ward- Ferndale Road- Atlantic Road- Railton RoadRailton Road, Atlantic Road and Ferndale Road are already named in the borough’s <a href="http://moderngov.lambeth.gov.uk/documents/s117177/Appendix%201%20Covid-19%20Transport%20Strategy%20Programme.pdf">Covid19 response</a> as areas we will look at. The other locations listed above have been assessed against the guidance issued by Public Health England to assess the risk of transmission, based on the amount and duration of pedestrian interaction. Using this criteria Tulse Hill, Hawarden Grove and Elm Park are not priorities but options are being looked at for how social distancing can be made easier at the southern end of Milkwood Road.
